How to Convert a Photograph to a Pattern for Scroll Sawing
A scroll saw is a machine capable of cutting detailed paths into materials to create a specific shape. The machine is commonly used in woodworking because of its efficient and effective cutting technique. Any outline can be cut. However, patterns will need to be simplified so that the appropriate material is cut away, leaving the desired shape or pattern. This can be done simply either by hand or with the use of computer aided design programs such as Adobe Photoshop for more complex designs.
