How to Troubleshoot the Whirlpool Gold Range Indicator Lights

The Whirlpool Gold range has a digital display with cooking controls, a clock and a timer. This control panel also has key pads that illuminate when certain cooking selections are made or processes are under way, such as the self-cleaning oven. The lights will also flash if there is an error with the oven, and knowing what these lights mean can help users figure out what steps are needed to resolve any problems. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Look at the corresponding key pad if a light is illuminated on the display panel. This key pad indicates the selected function. Press "Cancel" to turn off that selected function.

    • 2

Touch “Cancel/Off” if the display lights are flashing, which means a power failure has occurred. Select the desired cooking operation and push "Start".

    • 3

Wait for the surface to cool properly if the “Hot” indicator lights are illuminated after a power failure or reset. Once the indicator lights go out, the cooktop can be used.

    • 4

Push in the control knob for the indicated burner that is illuminated and turn to “Off” if the burner indicator light remains on even when cooking is complete. Note that the indicator light will stay on while the surface is warm.

    • 5

Disconnect power to the range if the control panel lights continue to flash or remain on even after the cooktop and oven have been turned off and have cooled properly. Restore power to reset the range control panel.
