How to Fix a Notice of a Virus Infection by Internet Explorer
Several computer viruses are spread through Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer is infected by a virus on your computer, you may receive a notice every time you launch the browser of a potential risk. Microsoft Safety Scanner, an anti-virus program available for free from Microsoft, scans your computer for the virus affecting Internet Explorer and removes it from your computer.

Download and install Microsoft Safety Scanner from the Microsoft website.

Click “File” and select “Exit” to close Internet Explorer after you have successfully downloaded and installed the Microsoft Safety Scanner tool.

Click the "Start" button. Click “All Programs,” then click “Microsoft Safety Scanner.”

Click the “Scan” button in the Microsoft Safety Scanner program. Microsoft Safety Scanner searches your computer for the virus that has infected Internet Explorer. The infected files are quarantined for removal.

Click “Remove” to get rid of the virus.

Open “All Programs” and then select “Internet Explorer.” Internet Explorer launches without the notice of a virus.
