Apply for an apprenticeship with a local locksmith who works on vehicle locks. If you have training in locksmithing principles, this will help you find employment as an apprentice.

Take the test to get certified as an automotive locksmith. The Associated Locksmiths of America offers Certified Automotive Locksmith testing. The ALOA has certified over 4,000 locksmiths worldwide.
