How to Make a Robin Hood Valentine
Robin Hood steals from the rich to give to the poor, but he also sweeps Maid Marian off her feet. The romance between Robin Hood and Maid Marian makes a Robin Hood-themed homemade Valentine a suitable choice for your love. Since Robin Hood and Cupid have a hobby in common -- shooting arrows -- center your Valentine around an archery theme. The additional details you add to the Valentine will distinguish the Robin Hood theme from the typical Cupid's arrow Valentine.

Instructions

1
Set one piece of cardstock paper on your work surface. This will be the base of your Valentine.
-
2
Punch out a large heart from a second piece of cardstock with the heart-shaped paper punch. Use a different color or design than your base. Position the heart in the center of your base cardstock. Do not affix the heart to the base.

-
3
Cut the origami paper into two equal pieces. Place the origami paper on your work station with the white side of the paper facing upward.
-
4
Fold one half of the origami paper inward at about one-third of the length of the paper. Repeat two more times. Cut one tip of the paper into a diagonal angle. This will form the fletching -- the upper feather -- of your arrow.
-
5
Fold the two top corners of the other half of the origami paper inward. Make the two edges meet in the middle so they do not overlap.
-
6
Fold the origami half inward three times, like you did with the other half. The difference is this end will have a pointed tip.
-
7
Position the two pieces of the arrow underneath the cut-out heart. Arrange the end with the fletching so that it protrudes from the upper part of one half of the heart. Align the end with the tip on the lower end of the opposite half of the heart so that it seems to form a straight line with the upper half of the arrow. When you are satisfied with the look, apply glue to both parts of the arrow and to the heart. Affix the three pieces in place on your base.

Tips & Warnings

Write your text with a pencil before you write the text with a pen if you want to avoid potential mistakes. Copy over the pencil marks with ink once you are sure that you like them.
