How to Cut a Long String of Hearts Fold
You don't need to run out to the nearest party supply store to decorate your party space for a Valentine's, wedding, engagement or anniversary party. Fold and cut some paper to create your own love-theme-appropriate garland by creating strings of hearts. Create your garland with construction paper, decorative scrapbook paper or even colored printer paper. Use the garland to decorate around the top of the room, the edges of tables and mantels.

1
Cut a 2-inch-wide strip from your sheet of paper making the cut length-wise so the length of the strip is equal to the length of the sheet of paper. It doesn't matter what type of paper you use. If you want your string of hearts to be a certain length, use a piece of paper 2 inches longer than that length to account for any half hearts.
-
2
Lay the strip on your work surface horizontally oriented. Fold the left edge of the strip to the right 1 inch. Fold the folded left edge to the right 1 inch toward the back of the paper. Keep folded the paper back and forth like this until the entire length is folded. Make each fold 1 inch wide.

Hold the folded paper vertically so it is tall and skinny, not short and wide. Cut it at a 45-degree angle from the bottom left corner angling up. Trim the top of the paper in an arch. What's left will look like half a heart.

Unfold the paper. Cut any half hearts from the ends of the heart chain. If you don't have any half hearts, and you wanted your chain a certain length, then cut one full heart from one end.
