Instructions

1
Cut two pieces of 2-by-4 wood to match the height you want for your finished room screen, and three pieces to match the width minus 2 inches.
-
2
Arrange the wood together in a rectangular shape like a picture frame. Put the side pieces opposite one another and then align the top and bottom pieces between them.
-
-
3
Use a drill to drill two holes in the top and bottom of each side piece, drilling into the cross pieces. Use a screw driver bit to fit screws into the holes to connect the wood pieces together.
-
4
Cut a vertical center brace to go between the horizontal members of your screen. Push it into place and secure it with screws.
-
5
Cut two pieces of fabric that are each 4 inches wider and longer than the dimensions of your frame.
-
6
Stretch one piece of fabric over the front side of the frame and fold it over the sides. Use a staple gun to staple the edges of the fabric around the top, bottom and sides. Cut off the excess fabric.
-
7
Stretch the other piece of fabric over the back side of the frame. Use a staple gun to attach it around the top, bottom and sides; allow it to slightly overlap the first piece of fabric. Cut off the excess fabric.
-
8
Glue a piece of decorative ribbon trim around the frame to hide the edges of the fabric.
-
9
Repeat steps 1 through 8 to make a second divider screen.
-
10
Install hinges between the two frame pieces to connect them together. Position your hinges approximately 4 inches down from the top and 4 inches up from the bottom. Arrange your divider screens in your room.
