Instructions

    • 1

Dab the fresh stain with a clean white rag to absorb as much of the stain as possible, after first scraping off any solids on the fabric using a hard, straight-edged utensil such as a butter knife. Do not use a dark-colored rag or one that will leave lint on your Lacoste shirt.

    • 2

Lay the shirt down on a flat work surface such as your table, counter or the top of your washing machine. Place a clean white rag underneath of the stained fabric while working on the surface of the stain to help absorb excess liquid.

    • 3

If the stain is from rust, lay the stained part of the shirt on a clean rag, then cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice onto a rust stain. Place the lemon-juice-soaked shirt in the sun and allow the juice to thoroughly dry. You may have to repeat the lemon soak more than once, until the stain has lifted completely. Once the stain has lifted wash your shirt as you normally would.

To remove grass stains, dab the stain with rubbing alcohol while the garment is lying on a clean ragins. After allowing the rubbing alcohol to set for a few minutes, wash the shirt as you normally would with a regular load of laundry.

    • 5

If the stain is from oil, rub dishwashing soap into the stain to break it down and remove it. Select a dishwashing soap that is specially formulated to cut grease. Allow the soap to set for 15 minutes, then wash the shirt in a normal load.

    • 6

Soak your shirt in an enzyme pre-soak bath, following package instructions. After the suggested amount of soaking wash the shirt in the hottest water setting that is acceptable for your specific style of Lacoste shirt. The enzyme pre-soak will assist most in breaking down and removing deodorant and armpit stains.

Rinse a fresh coffee or tea stain by pouring boiling water over it until it completely disappears. If the coffee or tea stain has dried and set, mix Borax and water together to form a thick paste. Cover the stain in the paste and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before washing the shirt.
