Instructions

    • 1

Select the color of card stock that you want to use for the leaves. If you want a multicolor tree, choose colors -- brick red, orange, gold and brown -- associated with fall. Or, if you want a classic wedding look, stick with white.

    • 2

Download and print out a wedding leaves template (see References). Make it larger or smaller based on your preference.

    • 3

Cut out the wedding leaves template. Trace the wedding leaf on the card stock. The number of leaves you cut should match the number of guests on your list.

    • 4

Write the word “WISHES” on top of each leaf.

    • 5

Use a hole puncher to punch holes at the top of each leaf, above the word “WISHES.”

    • 6

Cut a thin ribbon that's about 10 inches long for each leaf. The color of ribbon is up to you. Select ribbon that matches the color of the card stock or that contrasts with it.

    • 7

Tie a loop of ribbon into each hole.

    • 8

Place the leaves in a glass bowl or a wooden basket near the wishing tree at your reception. Have a couple of decorative pens on the table or in a pencil holder that matches the color and theme of your wedding.

    • 9

Place a framed poem near the wishing tree. The poem should instruct guests to write their wishes and hang them on the tree. Or, have your wedding attendants instruct guests to write a wish.
