Cars donated to a charity or school offers a benefit to the organization receiving the donation and the person donating the unwanted car. The donation company will be able to help you transfer titles for the cars and help you sell or scrap the car. These companies will take care of all the paperwork and legal aspects involved with car donation fundraisers.

Set a fundraiser date. If you are planning on hosting the car donation drive in a single day, you may want to pick a weekend day when most people are off work. You can also set up the car donation drive over an extended period of time, such as from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an entire week.

Offer a car wash. In addition to the car donation drive, offer a car wash service for anyone to stop by and have their car cleaned off. Offer the car wash free of charge to those donating a car and charge a fee for those who are not donating, but still want a car wash.

Make it a day. If planning the car donating fundraiser on a single day, plan other activities, such as kid’s carnival type games, bake sale, car wash and dancing to the music of a DJ. You can also turn the event into a family fun day by inviting local businesses to set up booths and offer family-friendly activities, games and prizes.
