How to Undo a Strobe Light

Strobe lights are used as part of security systems to alert the proper authorities to the presences of intruders. Depending on your strobe light's setting, the light will flash on and off in a particular pattern until the security board it is attached to resets. If one of your strobe lights is malfunctioning, you can easily disconnect the device from its security board. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn all four switches on the strobe light's DIP (Dual In-line Package) switchboard to their "OFF" positions.

    • 2

Disconnect the power (red) wire that extends from the strobe light to the security panel it is connected to. To find the disconnection point, follow the red wire with your fingers to its connection point on the security panel. You can remove the wire with your fingers.

    • 3

Disconnect the ground (black) wire that extends from the strobe light to the security panel. The strobe light is now completely removed from its panel.
