An AWeber autoresponder account allows you to add a newsletter or broadcast feature to your WordPress blog. Your readers may subscribe through an opt-in form on your site.AWeber will deliver your newsletters at the scheduled times. AWeber has a variety of form designs to choose from and provides the code for you to place the form on your website.

Instructions

  1. Create Form

      Log in to your AWeber account and select the list you want to use from the drop-down list in the top bar.

      Click the "Web Forms" tab in the top navigation bar and select the "Create a New Web Form" button on the next screen.

      Click the form template you want to use. AWeber features the newest templates by default, but you can select from any of the template ranges. If the template has a choice of colors, select the combination that best fits the design of your website. Click the "Load Template" button.

      Hold your cursor over each section and click the "Edit" tab that appears at the side of the template. Click "Save Web Form" to save your changes. When you are happy with your design, click "Go To Step 2."

      Enter a name for your form, for quick reference. Leave the default settings for the other options. Click "Save Web Form" and select "Go To Step 3."

      Click "I Will Install My Form." Select "Javascript Snippet" to modify your form design on the AWeber site without changing the code. Select "Raw HTML Version" to edit the form code directly on your blog.

      Copy the code and paste it into a text editor.

      Log in to your WordPress Dashboard and click "Widgets" under Appearance in the left navigation bar.

      Click the small arrow on the Sidebar header on the right of the screen to open it. If your theme has several sidebars, select the main or default sidebar for your form.

      Click and drag the "Text" or "Text Widget" header from the Available Widgets section to the open sidebar box.

      Paste the AWeber code from your text editor into the main box of the Text widget. Leave the title blank. Click "Save" to save your changes. The opt-in form will appear in your blog sidebar and your readers will be able to subscribe to your list.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may only add an opt-in form to WordPress blogs you host yourself.
