How to Crochet Swimwear
Show off your crochet skills this summer at the beach with a crocheted swimsuit. Crocheting your own swimwear is an ideal way to be able to custom fit your swimsuit to your the shape and size of your body. One crochet swimsuit is a for a two-piece bikini and is appropriate for the experienced crocheter, familiar with basic crochet stitches such as chain, single crochet and double crochet. Practice working these standard beginner stitches before attempting this pattern.

Bikini Top

Chain 27 stitches. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook. Single crochet each stitch across. Chain one stitch. Skip the first stitch, then single crochet each stitch across.

Chain one. Skip the first stitch. Single crochet in each stitch across. Repeat this step for the next 11 rows. Chain one, skip the first stitch and single crochet across.

Chain one, skip the first stitch and single crochet across. Repeat this step for the next 12 rows. Fasten off. This completes one cup. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the second cup.

Sew the short ends of each cup together, forming a triangular shape. Single crochet stitch around the entire top. Make four chains of 65 stitches for the bikini ties. Attach a chain to the top and side of each cup. This completes the top of your bikini.
Bikini Bottom

Chain 51 stitches. Single crochet in the first chain from the hook. Single crochet each stitch across. Chain one. Decrease one stitch at each end, single crochet stitching the rest. Repeat this row two more times. Chain two. Skip the first single crochet, then double crochet each stitch across.

Chain two. Decrease one stitch at each end. Double crochet in all the other stitches. Repeat this row for the next 12 rows.

Chain two. Skip the first stitch. Double crochet across. Repeat this step for the next nine rows. Chain two. Increase one stitch at each end and double crochet all other stitches. Repeat this row 10 more times. Chain one, skip the first stitch and single crochet across. Repeat this row four more times and fasten off. Sew in any remaining ends.

Attach the yarn at each corner, forming the bikini bottom. Make two chains of 55 for the bikini ties.
