How to Add Your Facebook Status to Joomla

Many website owners integrate social networks with their website by sharing Facebook profile information, including status updates, on their website. Facebook provides the necessary HTML code once you have customized a "profile badge" using Facebook's tool. Along with your status, you can choose to display your picture, location, or other items already included in your Facebook profile. Simply paste that code into a new Joomla module to display your status anywhere on your Joomla website.

Instructions

1. Log into your Facebook account and navigate to your profile page.

2. Click the "Add a Badge to your site" link located near the bottom of the left pane.

3. Click "Create a New Badge," then choose "Status updates" in the "Items" list. Choose any other items you wish to include. Notice the sample badge automatically reflects the changes.

4. Click "Save," then click "Other" and copy the code in the resulting text box.

5. Log on to your Joomla control panel, then click "Extensions" from the top menu bar and choose "Module Manager."

6. Click "New," then choose "Custom HTML."

7. Enter a title for the new module and choose "Hide."

8. Click "Select position," then choose where the Facebook status should be displayed. For example, choose "Name:sidebar," where "Name" is your template's name, to place the badge in the sidebar.

9. Click on "HTML" on the "Custom Output" menu.

10. Paste the Facebook badge code in the pop-up window, then click "Update."

11. Click "Save & Close," then "View Site" to see the result.
