How to Make a Cake From Play-Doh
Play-Doh is a modeling dough that can keep children entertained for hours with creative shape-making fun. Make a decorative Play-Doh cake for a "make-believe" tea party, a special doll's birthday party or just for fun. Use the pretend cake-making activity for a group of children on a rainy day or turn the project into a party activity and let each child take home her special creation.
Things You'll Need
- Play-Doh (5 containers)
- 6-inch round cake pan (or flat-bottomed bowl)
- Small cake tray or plate
- Play-Doh press
- Play-Doh press attachments
- Play-Doh flower mold
Instructions

1
Knead three containers of Play-Doh in your hands to make the dough more pliable. Fill a 6-inch cake pan with the dough to make the cake shape. Use a small, flat-bottomed bowl to mold the shape for a smaller cake.
-
2
Turn the pan upside down and tap lightly to loosen the Play-Doh. Place the cake on a small cake tray or pretty plate.
-
-
3
Fill a Play-Doh press with another color. Press down on the press to make a long log of Play-Doh "icing." Use a round attachment on the press or make decorative icing by adding a star-shaped attachment to the press.
-
4
Wrap the Play-Doh icing around the cake. Cut off any extra and press the ends together to keep it in place.
-
5
Make another strip of icing to decorate the top, outer edge of the cake.
-
6
Press another color of Play-Doh into a flower mold. Make three or four flowers and arrange them on top of the cake.
