There are different media you can use to create a model of a penguin, depending on your personal taste. One option pottery clay. Instructions

    • 1

Work a section of white FIMO clay into a roundish, oval shape. This will be the main body of the penguin.

    • 2

Take a smaller section of white clay and work it into a round ball. Attach it to the body of the penguin. Smooth along the sides of the head where it attaches to the body so that the seam is not noticeable. Use some extra clay to patch in any gaps if necessary. Mold the contours of the body and head to your liking.

    • 3

Cover the back half of the penguin with a layer of black clay. Attach a black tail in the back and two black wings on either side.

    • 4

Roll a fine strip of black clay, long enough to extend from one side of the penguin's head to the other. Press the black strip into the white clay, beginning on the left-hand side of the penguin's head, where the black clay meets the white. Bring it under the penguin's chin, up and around to the right side of the penguin's head.

    • 5

Make two small black balls for the eyes and press them onto the penguin's face. Make two oval shapes for the feet and attach them to the bottom of the penguin.

    • 6

Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a sheet of wax paper on your cookie sheet. When your oven has heated, bake your clay penguin for approximately 30 minutes. Remove your clay penguin from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before handling.
