How to Highlight on My Nook Color

How to Highlight on My Nook Color thumbnail
The Nook's touch-screen display has highlighting tools.

The Nook Color gives you tools to keep track of important pages and ideas while reading a book. Much like marking up a physical book, you can bookmark, write notes in the margins and highlight on a Nook Color e-book. Highlighting isn’t completely intuitive for a new user, but it's easier when you understand how to access the Nook Color's Text Selection Toolbar.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Nook Color and open the book you want to highlight.

    • 2

Touch and hold your finger on the word or beginning of the sentence you want to highlight. You can lift your finger when the Text Selection Toolbar appears and the word is temporarily highlighted with a blue bubble.

    • 3

Press and hold your finger on the blue bracket found to the right of the temporary highlighting bubble.

    • 4

Drag your finger over any additional words you want to highlight, extending the blue bracketing. Lift your finger when you are finished making your selection.

    • 5

Tap the highlight icon, found on the leftmost side of the Text Selection Toolbar.
