Check the oil and fuel levels to see if there is enough to start the engine. If they are too low, the engine won't start. Check the spark plugs. Worn or damaged spark plugs will cause issues for then engine. Check that the fuel filter is full of fuel.

Look over the engine housing for any corrosion or damage. Check the engine pump; if the engine sputters, there may be a problem with the fuel injector. Look over the tubes and linings; a leak may cause engine failure.

Open the injector line and crank the engine manually. Search for any loss of pressure, which may mean there is air in the fuel.
