Instructions

    • 1

Raise the garage door until the bottom edge is at a height that's comfortable for you to work.

    • 2

Lock a pair of pliers onto one track of the garage door in order to keep it from closing or position a two-by-four inside the track.

    • 3

Spray the full length of the aluminum t-channel with silicone spray if you have a sectional door. Grasp one end of the rubber seal. Pull it toward you to slide it out.

    • 4

Use a claw hammer or pry bar to remove the nails if you have a foam seal. Start at one end. As you remove the nails, the seal will come away from the door. If not, you may have to pull it loose.

Place the nails in a container as you remove them so they don't end up on the garage floor and create a hazard.
