Instructions

    • 1

Remove each screw of the generic fixture on the wall using the Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the generic fixture off of the wall.

    • 2

Use the measuring tape to measure each side of the generic fixture that has been taken off of the wall.

    • 3

Write down each measurement to assure the trim fixture is properly cut.

    • 4

Lay the fixture material down on a flat surface and secure it to surface using vise grips. Use the same measurements as the generic fixture and mark the material with the pencil.

    • 5

Cut the fixture using the pencil guide. A Skilsaw or Dremel tool work best, as they are compact and can be handled with minimal strength.

    • 6

Lay the generic fixture onto the new material and stencil the holes for the switch and wall outlets using the pencil.

    • 7

Cut these stencils out carefully using the Dremil or sanding tool.

    • 8

Place the fixture onto the wall where it will be secured. Tighten the two-, four- or six-screw fixture with the screws from the generic fixture using a power drill or screwdriver.
