How to Dry Snowboard Jackets thumbnail
Many snowboard jackets are safe to dry at home.

Snowboarders require clothing that is warm, breathable and able to keep you protected from the elements when out on the snow. Typically, jackets made for snowboarding are waterproof, warm and feature zippered openings in strategic places to allow your sweat to escape, preventing you from becoming too cold when no longer active. This type of material requires special care when washing and drying to prevent damage. Some snowboard jackets provide care instructions that state it should only be drycleaned, but others are easily washed and dried at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Read the care instructions on the tag inside your snowboarding jacket to ensure that it is not a "dryclean-only" jacket. Hand washing, machine washing and drying a "dryclean-only" snowboard jacket will damage it.

    • 2

Set your dryer to the “warm” setting and place your snowboard jacket into the dryer. Do not place any additional cleaning items, such as fabric softeners or dryer sheets, in the dryer with your snowboard jacket.

    • 3

Close the dryer door and turn the dryer on so that your snowboard jacket tumbles dry on the low setting. Remove your jacket when it is completely dry.
