How to Remove Flash Cookies in Opera

Adobe’s Flash Player plugin stores its own set of cookies independently from Opera’s browser cookies. Websites can use Flash cookies to store preferences, save your progress in Flash games or track you on the Web. Some websites store cookies in Flash to bypass your Web browser’s cookie preferences. Delete Flash cookies from the Flash Player Settings Manager window, as clearing Opera’s browser cookies won’t remove Flash cookies. Each Web browser on your computer shares the same Flash cookies.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to a Web page containing Flash content such as the About Adobe Flash Player page on Adobe.com in Opera.

    • 2

Right-click the Flash content on the page and select “Global Settings” in the popup menu. The Flash Player Settings Manager window appears.

    • 3

Click the “Delete All” button on the Storage pane.

    • 4

Verify that the “Delete All Site Data and Settings” check box is checked; click it if it isn’t.

    • 5

Click the “Delete Data” button to remove all Flash cookies.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remove the Flash cookies associated with an individual website by clicking the “Local Storage Settings by Site” button in the Flash Player Settings Manager window, clicking a website in the list and clicking the “Remove” button.

  • You can delete Opera’s browser cookies from the Delete Private Data window. Open it by clicking the “Opera” menu, pointing to “Settings” and clicking “Delete Private Data.” Click the “Detailed Options” option in the window, verify “Delete All Cookies” is checked and click the “Delete” button.
