How to Build a Region in "SimCity"
Unlike past "SimCity" games, "SimCity 4" allows you to not only create a city, but to create a region as well. A region can house multiple towns that are interconnected, allowing them to share resources with one another. However, a region's space is finite and, once that space is filled, no more towns can be added and a new region must be created. You can build a new region from the "SimCity 4" main menu at any time you are not managing a city.

Launch "SimCity 4."

Click the "Region View Options" icon at the top left corner of the screen. This icon is a picture of a grid and displays "Region View Options" when the mouse cursor is placed on it.

Click the "Create New Region" icon. This icon is of two squares on top of one another that displays "Create New Region" when the mouse cursor is placed on it.

Type a name for your region in the blank "Region Name" field.

Select either "Plains" or "Water." Whichever option is selected designates the majority of the terrain in the region.

Click "Create Region." Your new region is created and you can begin building cities on it immediately.

Tips & Warnings
You can load an old region by selecting "Load Region" from the "Region View Options" menu. There is no limit to the amount of regions you can create.
