How to Use a Sears Molding Head

Sears molding head cutters are designed to convert table saws into molders. The cutters run vertically instead of horizontally. Run the molding through by hand to complete molding with your saw. Install the molding head cutters the same way you install a saw blade. Secure the molding with a wood block

Things You'll Need

• Block of wood
• Hammer
• Hand clamp
• Molding lumber

Instructions

1. Install the molding cutters into the saw blade arbor.

2. Place a small piece of molding on the table saw and raise the cutters. Turn on the saw and pull a 12-inch piece of molding through the cutters. Turn off the saw.

3. Clamp a wood block on top of the molding, above the cutters, with a hand clamp. Press the block down with your hammer.

4. Turn on the saw. Push the molding through the cutters with both of your hands. Stop holding the molding at 12 inches to the end of the molding. Walk behind the leading edge of the saw, and pull the rest of the molding through.
