Instructions

    • 1

Lay the sugar paper on your work surface with the printed side face-down. The back side of the sugar paper should be facing you.

    • 2

Mark the dimensions or shape that you want to cover in sugar paper with an edible ink marker or pen.

    • 3

Cut the shape out of the sheet with a rotary cutting tool. Alternatively, cut the paper with shaped food punches to create small pieces in standard shapes, such as hearts and stars.

    • 4

Squeeze piping gel in a small dish. Dip the paintbrush into the gel. Brush the backside of the sugar paper shape with piping gel.

    • 5

Place the paper on the frosted surface of the confection.

Tips & Warnings

  • Piping gel is essentially clear icing.

  • Though you can handle sugar paper in ways similar to regular paper, it's more delicate than pulp-based paper so handle it with care.
