How to Troubleshoot an LG 32LX1D
On occasion, your 32LX1D LCD TV from LG Electronics may exhibit powering, video or audio problems. For example, remote control failure, poor picture or no sound could occur. These things can happen to new sets or those that have been in service for while. The good news is that you can fix most issues in plenty of time so you will not miss much of your planned programming.

Press the "Power" button on the remote control to verify that the TV is on if it fails to turn on. Press the "Power" button on the TV control panel if the remote does not work. Check the battery placement in the remote control for positive to positive and negative to negative installation. Replace weak batteries, two at a time.

Flip the circuit-breaker switch back on if it tripped and neither remote control or TV control panel Power button work. Verify that all of your cable cords, external device connections and antenna/cable connections are secure. Plug another appliance into the outlet to confirm that it is working.

Check the sleep-timer setting if the TV shuts off suddenly. Press the "Menu" button and use the arrow buttons to make your selections and adjustments. Select "Time" and select "Off Tmer." Select "Off, then press "Exit."

Change the channel if no picture is displayed and no sound is heard. Call your cable TV or satellite TV provider to perform a signal check if a single station is experiencing problems. Press the "Menu" button and select "Video." Select "Brightness and increase the brightness level if no picture is displayed. Use the arrow buttons and select "Color" from the Video menu. Increase the color if the display shows weak colors; decrease it if the display colors are too bright. Press "Exit" when finished.

Move interference-causing electrical appliances, such as microwaves, fluorescent lighting, and drills to another room if streaks or snow appear on the screen. Readjust the direction of the antenna, if applicable.

Press the "Mute" button once if you do not hear any sound. Press the "Vol" up-arrow button until sound is heard. Verify that your audio cables are securely connected to the TV. Confirm that the Audio Language and Speaker settings are correct. Press the "Menu" button and select "Audio." Select "Audio Language." Select "French," "Spanish," or "English." Select "TV Speaker" from the Audio menu. Select "Off" if external speakers are used; "On" if no additional speakers are connected to the TV. Adjust the Balance, Bass, and Treble settings from the Audio menu, if necessary.

Tighten the PC cable to the TV if problems occur while the TV is in PC mode. Press the "TV Input" button on the remote control and verify that "RGB-PC" source is selected. Check that the signal frequency and supported display resolution is set to 1024x768 and 60Hz. Verify that your PC's video card is working if the picture only shows a single color. Refer to your PC's user manual for instructions on how to adjust resolution settings and reinstall the PC video card, if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
Do not be alarmed if the picture does not appear right away after you press the Power button to turn on your TV. During the startup process, it may take up to five minutes for the LG 32LX1D model TV to warm up and the image to display when it is first powered up.
Sudden or gradual changes in ambient temperature may cause your TV to make unusual sounds when it is turned off or on. This is normal. Keep the room temperature steady to lessen the effect.
