How to Make a Fertilizer Tea for Lawns
Home gardens include a wide range of foliage with trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables holding places in a balanced yard. One of the quickest and most effective ways of landscaping any property is with a large, rolling green lawn. Grass brings a yard both color and functionality, as both a ground cover and foundation planting. Keeping the grass bright and green requires consistent maintenance. Give grass frequent feedings of organic compost tea for continued growth and color. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of water. Scoop 2 cups of organic compost or horse manure into the bucket, or scoop the compost or horse manure into a burlap sack and hang the sack inside the bucket. Increase the ingredients in the same ratio for additional tea.
-
2
Put the bucket in a warm, protected location and let it steep for three to four days. Don't leave the bucket in a windy or brightly lit area, as it will evaporate.

Harvest the compost tea. If you put compost directly into the water, put a cloth over the bucket and pour the water into a second bucket. If you used a bag, lift the bag out of the water. Lay the leftover compost out in the flower or vegetable garden to improve soil quality.

Put the compost tea in a sprayer and apply it to the grass or pour it directly onto the grass from the bucket. Apply an even layer of compost tea to soak the soil.
