How to Use a Gemini Saw Titan
The Titan XT is a circular glass and glass tile saw developed by Gemini. It is portable and can be used to cut straight lines and curves. The saw cuts glass tiles and bottles of up to three inches diameter, stained glass and even ceramic tiles and other hard materials. Other features are a water pumping system to keep the cutting area from overheating.
Instructions
-
Straight Lines
-
1
Position the tile in the sliding tray.
-
2
If cutting a diagonal straight line, use triangle spacers to correctly orient the tile for cutting. Make sure that the angle between the tile and base of the sliding tray is 90 degrees if cutting a normal cut.
-
-
3
Move the sliding tray forward. Do not attempt to force the tile through and let the blade do the cutting. Push the tray forward until the blade meets the small slot on the end of the tray. Pull the tray back and remove the two sections of tile.
Curves
-
4
Turn the tray around to create a larger work surface.
-
5
Place the tile on the tray. Turn the machine on. Slide the tile toward the blade and cut it to the desired shape, taking care to protect your hands from the blade. Do not attempt to force the tile through and let the blade do the cutting.
-
6
Rotate the tile as necessary to follow the line of the curve. When complete, remove the two pieces from the sliding tray.
Bottles
-
7
Remove the sliding tray. Remove the Phillips screws holding the housing around the blade. Lift the housing off the machine.
-
8
Replace the sliding tray. Position the bottle for cutting on the sliding tray in the correct orientation for the cut. Turn on the machine.
-
9
Move the sliding tray forward. Keep the bottle in position with your hand, but avoid putting your hands near the blade. Do not attempt to force the bottle through and let the blade do the cutting. Push the tray forward until the blade meets the small slot on the end of the tray. Pull the tray back and remove the two sections of bottle.
