How to Make a T-Shirt Display in "Second Life"
The virtual world of "Second Life" features the ability to completely customize your avatar, or on-screen character. "Second Life: avatars can take any form, from points of light to monsters the size of a skyscraper. Most avatars are human-shaped and wear clothing. "Second Life" clothing can be complex and made up of several "layers" superimposed on each other. For the upper body, the T-shirt is the lowest layer of clothing and often hidden from view by other clothing layers. By following a few steps, you can make sure that your avatar's T-shirt displays properly.

Open your "Second Life" viewer by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or selecting it from your Start menu.

Log in by entering your username and password.

Click on the "Inventory" button to open your avatar's inventory. In "Second Life's" official Viewer 2, click the suitcase icon to the far right of your screen to open your inventory. On prior releases or most third-party viewers, find the button labeled "Inventory" on your screen.

Use the arrows in the pop-up inventory menu to scroll through your available items. Many items in your inventory are in folders. Click the arrow next to the folder to open it and reveal the names of individual items. Locate the T-shirt you want your avatar to wear. "Second Life" T-shirts have a sleeveless shirt icon next to the item name.

Right-click on the name of the T-shirt and select "Wear." The item name will highlight in your inventory.

Examine your avatar to see if the T-shirt is displaying on your avatar. If it is not, check to see if other items block your view of the T-shirt. "Second Life" features a series of clothing layers that stack on top of each other. The shirt layer and the coat layer could both be blocking the view of the T-shirt. Type "worn" into your inventory's Search Bar. Your inventory will now display all of the items that your avatar is wearing. Search for items with a shirt icon or coat icon next to them. Right-click on the item name and select "Take Off " to remove them.
