Brass plate is an alloy in which a very thin layer of brass is fused to the surface of another metal. Over time, a brass-plated lamp gets tarnish, which appears as green or grey film.   • Duster
  • Bowl
  • Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Flour
  • Cotton cloths

Instructions

      Unplug the lamp and remove the light bulb.

      Dust the lamp to remove any surface dust or dirt.

      Mix ½ cup vinegar with 1 tbs. salt in a bowl. Add enough flour to create a thick paste.

      Dip a cotton cloth into the paste and apply to tarnish on the lamp.

      Keep the paste on the lamp for 10 minutes.

      Wet a cloth and wipe off the paste. Rinse the cloth and repeat until you remove all paste.

      Dry lamp with a cloth. Then rub lamp until the brass plate shines.
