Show off your Google Reader badge by putting it in your Facebook's profile photo.

As part of Google's April Fool's Day pranks in 2011, Google created a website outlining the Google Reader ReaderAdvantage Program. The program allowed users of Google Reader -- an application that allows users to read all the daily websites they wish to on a single feed -- to earn badges based on how many points they earned based on their time on Google Reader. The prank was such a success that Google actually sent out a limited number of badges. If you have one of the Google Reader badges and wish to display it on your Facebook profile, you can take a photo with it and post that under your profile photos.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up the photo for how you wish it will look. You can simply place the Google Reader badge on a flat surface and take just a photo of the badge, or pin it to your clothing and pose so the badge is visible.

    • 2

Take the photo. If the badge is pinned to your clothing, use a self-timer or have a friend take the photo for you.

    • 3

Plug your camera into your computer using the camera's USB cable and turn the camera on.

    • 4

Download the photo to your computer.

    • 5

Log into Facebook. Upload the photo to your profile pictures and set it as your default.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to post a link to your Google Reader's public page -- the page where all the articles you want to share with others appear on a single feed -- copy the link and paste it under the "Websites" section of your Facebook profile, under "Edit profile." Google Reader does not have an official Facebook app as of September 2011.
