How to Get Images on Posts

New users first posting on message boards are often bewildered when initially attempting to attach, or "embed," an image into a post. Images can aid an argument, illustrate a point or provide humor to ease tension, among limitless other uses. Luckily, nearly all message boards use the same format, and image-posting remains fairly consistent throughout.

Instructions

    • 1

Click a subject title on a list of forum topics to load a "thread," a name for a collection of posts.

    • 2

Press the button labeled "Reply" or "Add Reply," normally located at the top and bottom of the page of replies. There is also usually a button at the bottom of every post that quotes that post's material and loads a "reply" page.

    • 3

Right-click an image in a Web browser and select the option to open it in a new tab or window. Highlight the URL of that tab or window and press "Ctrl" and "C" simultaneously to copy it.

    • 4

Click the "Image" button on the reply page interface and press "Ctrl" and "P" to paste the URL in the field that appears. The URL will show up between two brackets, "."

    • 5

Add text to your post if necessary and click "Add Reply" or its equivalent to add the image to the thread.
