DIY Tie Rack on a Wall
Owning a lot of ties requires a good way to store them. Hanging your ties from coat hangers in the closet keeps them from getting wrinkled, but you may not be able to see all of the ties and you may forget about some of them. To view several of your ties at once time, you need to build a tie rack. You don't need to spend a lot of money, as a simple hand rake and a bit of wire will do the job. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

- Stud finder (if available)
- Drill (if needed)

- Wire cutters

1
Find a suitable location on the wall for the tie rack. Screw a wall hook into the wall where you want to install the rack. If you have a stud finder, try to screw the wall hook where there's a stud. This will help keep the tie rack from pulling the hook out of the wall. You may have to use a drill to make a pilot hole for the wall hook if you are screwing it into a stud.

2
Wrap a piece of picture frame wire around the handle of the hand rake where the bars of the rake come together at the handle. Twist the wire together so the ends are locked tightly.

3
Slip the wire over the hook so the hand rake rests against the wall with its forks pointing down. Snip any excess picture wire from around the handle with wire cutters.
-
4
Hang each of your ties from the individual forks of the hand rake. Hang belts on any leftover forks if you aren't using all of the forks for your ties.
