How to Catch Magneton in Diamond
In "Pokemon Diamond," Magneton is an Electric- and Steel-type Pokemon that is composed of three smaller Magnemite Pokemon held together by magnetism. To get Magneton, you must evolve a Magnemite. Magneton is strong against almost all Pokemon types and is not affected at all by Poison-types, but it is vulnerable to Fire-, Fighting- and Ground-type attacks.

Go to Route 205 in the west of the Sinnoh region, just to the north of Floarama Town, and head east to the Fuego Ironworks.

Enter the Ironworks and walk around until you encounter a wild Magnemite. While there are several different Pokemon in the Ironworks, Magnemite is the most common, so it will not take long to find one.

Battle Magnemite with Fire-, Fighting- or Ground-type attacks to wear down its health points until its health bar turns red, and then throw a Poke Ball to catch it.

Assign Magnemite to your traveling party of six Pokemon and use it in in battles to accumulate Experience Points.

Gather enough Experience Points to get Magnemite up to Level 30, and it will automatically evolve into Magneton.

Tips & Warnings
If you give Magnemite the Exp. Share item to hold, it will gain Experience Points even if you don't use it in battles.
