Decorating With a Hammock
Hammocks make a functional addition to an outdoor living space, such as a porch or balcony. Place a hammock in a nice shady area in which you would like to sit and relax or read a book. Rather than simply hanging the hammock on the porch, decorate the area around it, too. Choose accessories that will enhance the decor and make time in your hammock more relaxing. Select a hammock for the space. Choose a simple white rope hammock if you want a traditional look and muted colors, or select a fabric hammock in a color that complements the decor of the outdoor area.

Select a location for your hammock. Choose an area that stays in the shade throughout the day and has a good view. Place your hammock on a frame and set it up in the area you chose. If you prefer to hang the hammock, use the hooks that were provided with it. Make sure that you hang the hammock from walls or a porch roof that are sturdy enough to hold your weight. Read your hammock's user manual before hanging it.

Select pillows in a color that coordinate with your porch and your hammock and place them on the hammock.

Place a small table beside the hammock. Make sure that the table is not placed so close to the hammock that you might bump into it while relaxing in the hammock.

Place candles in different sizes on the top of the table to create ambiance around the hammock after dark. Reserve a place for books or magazines on top of the table as well.
