How to Do a Voiceover in iMovie for Mac
Create a "voiceover" or narration for your video project with Apple's iMovie. Through this video-editing software, you can dub your voice over your video, using either an external microphone, or an internal mic if your Mac has one. Adding narration to your project enhances it by letting you explain images or video, and expand upon the visual presentation.

3
Move the slider for "Noise Reduction" to the right side if you want to block out background noise, suggested for noisy settings. Add a check-mark to the "Voice Enhancement" box if you would like your voice electronically enhanced for added smoothness.

4
Plug your headphones into the computer if you want to listen to the video's audio for ques while doing your voiceover. Without headphones, your mic will pick up the sound from the video, degrading audio quality.

Navigate to the Project window and select the frame of video on which to start the voiceover. After three beeps, recording begins. When finished providing the voiceover, click anywhere within the Project window to stop. Click the "X" in the Voiceover browser to close it before you click elsewhere in the project, which would start a new voiceover.
