Instructions

    • 1

Add 2 tablespoons of warm water and 1 tablespoon of baking soda to a bowl and mix it well. Stir the mixture until it becomes a paste. If you are cleaning several pairs of earrings at once, you can double or triple the amount of water and baking soda.

    • 2

Submerge the earrings into the paste until they are coated completely and soak them for 10 minutes. If the earrings have backs, remove them and place the earrings and backs in the paste separately so that both are cleaned thoroughly.

    • 3

Remove the earrings one by one and brush gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush while the paste is still on them. When you feel they are clean enough, rinse them with cold water and dry them with a soft cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • The water and baking soda paste should only be used on metal earrings or those containing diamonds. If your earrings have other gemstones, use only warm water and mild soap to clean them.
