The ring bearer usually has a pillow with the wedding rings on it.

Among the most iconic symbols of a wedding or marriage are the rings. They are a constant reminder of the commitment you made to each other on your wedding day. During the ceremony, the rings are traditionally handled by a ring bearer who has a pillow to which the two rings are tied. This pillow can be made of any material, including felt. This makes them easy to create yourself if you want to save money or simply give your ceremony a personalized touch.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the two felt squares flat on top of each other so they are fully aligned. Pin them together around the edges.

    • 2

Sew around the outside of the pins using a needle and thread. Sew around all the edges with the exception of one 2-inch section at the top.

    • 3

Turn the sewn felt pieces inside out to hide the stitching.

    • 4

Stuff fiberfill through the 2-inch opening that you left. Stuff it until you are satisfied with how it looks.

    • 5

Sew up the last 2 inches together at the top of the pillow.

    • 6

Sew a button in the center of the pillow. Tie the ribbon to the button. The ribbon will be used to hold the rings to the pillow as the ring bearer marches it down the aisle.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to choose felt and ribbon colors that coordinate with your wedding colors so that it doesn't look out of place.

  • You can further embellish the pillow by gluing or sewing things like flowers or gems to it.
