How to Open an Upscale Pizza Bar
It's no secret that pizza is a favorite dish among Americans. Whether it's deep dish or thin-crust, many people get excited over pizza. Even though there are many pizza restaurants out there, that doesn't mean you can't open a unique pizza restaurant of your own. With a solid plan, appropriate equipment and the right people, you can open an upscale pizza shop that's the talk of the town.

1
Create a business plan. Include details in your plan, such how much money you need to start the restaurant, how many employees you want to hire, what foods will be on the menu, what the design of the restaurant will look like and how you plan to make your restaurant a success. Add a sample menu and a layout of the design of your restaurant.
-
2
Take out a business loan. Bring your business plan with you to show the loan officer you are serious about opening up a pizza restaurant. Whether it's $5,000 or $50,000, determine how much money you need to borrow.
-
-
3
Make a budget. Decide how much money you want to spend on rent, utilities, employee costs, food and equipment every month.
-
4
Find a location. While it is important to pick a location you can afford, it's also essential to choose a place where your restaurant will be seen. For example, if you put your pizza restaurant next to a major highway, you are more likely to get a higher volume of people come in your restaurant. If you put your restaurant across the street from a popular pizza restaurant, you are less likely to get as many customers.
-
5
Purchase equipment, such as dishes, furniture, pizza ovens and dish washers. To make your restaurant appear more upscale, put cloth napkins and candles on each table.
-
6
Obtain a liquor license if you wish to serve alcohol. Contact your state's Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration to find out the requirements you need to obtain one. Check to see if your establishment is up to code, so you pass an inspection.
-
7
Create a menu. Because your restaurant is upscale, don't include only pizza on your menu. For example, add pasta, salads, soup and wine to your menu.
-
8
Hire employees. Advertise the positions you need to fill in the newspaper. An upscale pizza restaurant will need cooks, servers, bus boys, dishwashers and hosts. Set up interviews with qualified applicants, and choose the ones who are best fit for your restaurant.
-
9
Advertise your restaurant. Put an ad in the newspaper announcing the opening of your restaurant. Offer coupons to entice people to visit your restaurant on its grand opening.
