How to Bull Nose Tile
Bull-nosing tile is the process of rounding out a sharp edge. The round edge is made with a grinder, and it is generally appropriate for tiles used along borders or counter top edges. While grinding the tile edge, you need to apply an even and light pressure until the edge is sufficiently rounded. The softer the stone, the finer grit sandpaper you will need to use. Grinding discs are usually inexpensive. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fit a hand grinder with a 60- to 120-grit disc. A 60-grit disc is appropriate for travertine tiles while the higher grades are finer and work better for softer stones. You will need one disc for each 12-by-12 inch tile, or two for 18-by-18 inch tile.
-
2
Place the tile on a work bench that is set at waist high or above. The lip of the tile should jut out over the edge by 4 inches.

3
Turn on the grinder. Begin grinding the edge of the tile, starting from under the edge and moving the grinder up. Make one to two passes up over the edge then move across the tile sideways to the next portion.
-
4
Continue grinding up and down over the edge of the tile as you move the grinder sideways. If the disc wears out, replace it with a new one. Once the bullnose is as round as you want, wipe the tile with a tack cloth to remove the dust.
