How to Keep Collectable Football Helmets Clean
Football cards, autographs, jerseys and helmets are among the many things die-hard football fans can collect and display to show their love for their team. Keeping a collectible helmet clean, especially one that has been signed by your favorite player, requires keeping it protected from the elements. This is best done by storing the football helmet in a specially designed display case.

Dampen a cloth rag or sponge and wipe the outside of the helmet. Remove any dirt or grass that may have accumulated around the facemask bars.

2
Use a mild, nonabrasive cleanser or liquid dish soap to clean any surface dirt that cannot be removed with water alone. Avoid any areas that are autographed. Dry the helmet thoroughly.

3
Spray a disinfecting deodorizing spray inside the helmet to neutralize any bacteria or smells. Allow the helmet to air dry for at least 24 hours.
-
4
Place the helmet in a specially designed acrylic or glass helmet display case. Wrap the helmet completely in plastic wrap if you do not have a display case.
