DIY Winter Door Wreath
When October, November and December roll around, they come with a range of additions, including changes in the weather, holidays and the end of another year. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas bring presents, baking and lots of good food, and always include a wide array of new decorations for home and hearth. Try your hand at making door wreaths of your own this year, using everyday items and personalizing them for the season. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Synthetic pine boughs (2)
- Twist/cord ties/clips
- Christmas balls
- Glue gun
- Ribbon
- Thanksgiving figures
- Bow
- String of small, battery-operated Christmas lights

Twist two 2- to 3-foot sections of synthetic pine bough together to form a full, lush section of synthetic foliage. Pull the ends of the section together and secure them with ties or clips to form a loop. This is your wreath. Fluff the foliage to make it fuller.

Glue Christmas balls and ornaments intermittently though the foliage for decoration and color. Use orange, yellow and brown ribbons or Thanksgiving figurines for a Thanksgiving wreath.

Glue a large red bow at the top of a Christmas wreath or an orange or yellow bow at the top of a Thanksgiving wreath. Use the bow or the top loop of the wreath to hang the decoration.

Twist a string of small, battery-operated Christmas lights, through a Christmas wreath, to light it up and add more color.

Tips & Warnings
Use real pine boughs for fragrant wreaths but use these only as short-term wreaths; the foliage will dry and die quickly.
