How to Decorate Kitchen Cabinet Tops With a Wine Theme

Cabinet tops sit directly below the kitchen ceiling, so choose decor items that draw the eye upward. Complement a wine-themed kitchen by enhancing the cabinet tops with coordinating decor. A wine decor theme will give a kitchen a bistro-inspired look while infusing the space with charm.

Things You'll Need

• Faux grapevine
• Empty wine bottles
• Faux flowers
• Wine corks
• Straw wreath base
• Purple ribbon

Instructions

1. Place a faux grapevine across the top of the cabinets, allowing the ends of the vine to drape down.

2. Transform an empty wine bottle into a vase. Choose a bottle with an eye-catching label, or remove the label by soaking the bottle in warm, soapy water. Wash out the bottle and allow it to air-dry.

3. Fill the wine bottle with a bouquet of faux flowers rather than fresh blooms, so you don't have to worry about reaching the cabinet tops on a regular basis. Choose pink roses for a romantic look, or purple daisies or hydrangeas for a vibrant pop of color.

4. Decorate a large, open wall space above the kitchen cabinets with a handmade wine cork wreath. Create the wreath by using a hot glue gun to attach corks all around the perimeter of a straw wreath base. Tie a wide purple ribbon into a bow at the top or bottom of the wreath to finish the simple craft project.
