How to Add a Chatbox on DMON

The DMON project offers registered users unlimited free space to host their own website and a selection of design tools within a "click-to-add" format. DMON offers modules to create a forum, and add a news site or a blog. Websites hosted on DMON can include a tag board to offer mini chat capabilities -- or chatbox -- for users to converse in real-time. Users can censor the tag board by adding a list of restricted words in the tag board module.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign into the control panel for the website to which you want to add chat capabilities. The control panel is the administrative area where you can add or remove modules from your DMON site.

    • 2

Locate the modules listed in the upper-left corner of the control panel. Your active modules will be listed in this window. Check that “Tag Board” is not included.

    • 3

Click on the “Inactive” tab under the listed modules. Select “Tag Board” from the list of modules available for adding to your site. Click “Install the module” to activate a tag board and open the “Module Management” information.

    • 4

Select “Module Settings” in the “Module Management” section to adjust chat settings. Adjust individual settings until the chat function is how you want it. Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the screen.

    • 5

Click on “Tag Board” at the top of the Settings frame to return to the “Module Management” options. Click on “Module design customization” to edit HTML templates and further customize the tag board.

Tips & Warnings

  • Monitor your tag board and add any words you want censored into the box under "Module Settings."
