How to Edit Defaults in Android
Much like computers, Android smartphones have default applications assigned to the various tasks the phone executes. If you download an application you want to use in place of one of the device's default applications, however, you must clear the original application for that particular task. Once you've cleared it, the next time you perform the task in question on your Android phone, you can set the new application as your default for that task.
Instructions

-
1
Press the Android smartphone's "Menu" button and tap the "Settings" option.
-
2
Tap the "Applications" option, then tap the "Manage Applications" option.
-
-
3
Tap the "All" tab, then tap the name of the default application you want to change. For example, if you want to change the phone's default Web browser, tap that application.
-
4
Tap the "Clear Defaults" button beneath the "Launch by Default" heading.
-
5
Attempt to perform a task that requires the use of the default application you just cleared. For example, clicking a website link would prompt your phone to open the browser.
-
6
Place a checkmark next to the "Use by default for this action" option and tap the application you want to set as the new default when prompted. This should reassign the default application for that task.
