DOS, which stands for disk operating system, is a command-line based operating system that showed up inside many computers during the 1980s. Microsoft's Windows operating system ran on top of MS-DOS for many years. If you have an Android smartphone, you can run a DOS emulator called JPC x86, which gives you access to older DOS-based applications and DOS-based games.

Open the Android Market app on your Android smartphone.

Tap the magnifying glass to open a search box, then type "JPC x86" and press "Search."

Tap the JPC x86 option in the search results to view the app detail page.

Install the app by tapping the "DOWNLOAD" button, then tapping "Accept & download." The JPC x86 app will install on your Android smartphone.
