How to Add My Business to Craigslist
Craigslist, the popular online classifieds site, covers a number of cities and geographic areas. You can use Craigslist for your business in a number of ways -- such as posting job listings, advertising your services and selling off goods directly. Many listings are free, with the exception of job listings in the largest Craigslist sites. Your Craigslist marketing has the potential to bring in additional income, employees and word of mouth recommendations.

Go to Craiglist's website (craigslist.org) and look through the list of cities and countries that Craigslist provides sites for. Click the city or country closest to the area in which you're doing business. If you find two equally close cities, choose the larger of the two to reach more potential clients or customers.

Click the section most relevant to your business' interests. The "For sale" section is best for selling specific items, the "Jobs" section contains all job listings and the "Services" section is best if you want to generally advertise your business.

Click the "Post" link in the upper right-hand corner of the section you entered. Log in to your Craigslist account. If you do not currently have a Craigslist account, open one via the registration link on this page.

Click the category you're posting in. Click the appropriate subcategory.

Create a post title summarizing your business services, the items you're selling or your job listing title. Put a location in the second field and a price if applicable. Include additional details about your business offering in the "Posting description" field. You can choose to display your email or use a Craigslist masked email.

Click the "Add / Edit Images" button if you have photos to add to the listing. Craigslist allows up to four pictures a post. Click "Continue" to add your listing to your city's Craigslist page.
