How to Prepare to Fight Geiseric on "Final Fantasy XIII"
Geiseric, the Profane, is one of several marks you can hunt for money and rare rewards in "Final Fantasy XIII." This crystallized monster has 702,000 health points, and if you can't kill it within 20 minutes, Geiseric casts Doom on your party. High-level parties have little trouble chipping away at Geiseric's health with magic, such as Slow and Deshell. To give yourself the best chance to beat Geiseric, set up the most advantageous Paradigms or party formations before the battle begins.

1
Find any save point and select "Retail Network." Select the Unicorn Mart shop. Buy Potions here for 50 gil each and several Phoenix Downs for 1,000 gil each. Some team members can restore health and raise dead characters with magic, but these items come in handy during emergencies.
-
2
Equip accessories that increase your magic. Geiseric is well shielded from physical attacks, so your party needs to rely on its magic power. A Shaman's Mark, which gives you 50 extra magic points, is an example of a magic-boosting accessory. Also, the Magistral Crest gives you 200 magic points.

Open your team menu and go to the Paradigms page. Arrange three Ravager team members to form the Tri-Disaster Paradigm. Place a Commando and two Medics together to form the Discretion Paradigm. If you are worried about Geiseric doing heavy damage to your team, put three Medics together for the Salvation Paradigm.
-
4
Go to the Western Benchland area of the Archylte Steppe to face Geiseric. When the fight begins, cast Slow to slow down Geiseric's movements.
-
5
Switch to the Tri-Disaster Paradigm. Your team uses black magic to damage Geiseric because he is weak to all magic.
-
6
Use the Discretion or Salvation Paradigm to heal your team if Geiseric uses his powerful Savage Stomp or Dominating Fist moves. Use your Potions and Phoenix Down if your healers die. Keep using magic against Geiseric to take him down.
