The steps to get alcohol out of a couch are different from removing shirt stains.

For some stains, you might just turn over the couch cushion and no one would know the difference. An alcohol stain doesn't just look bad -- it also smells bad. Like most stains, clean it out of your couch as soon as possible after it happens. Most times, you can remove the stain and the smell with supplies you have around the house.

Step 2

Fill a sponge with the mixture and squeeze most of the liquid out. Soak the stain with the cleaning solution using the sponge. Allow to set 10 minutes.

Step 3

Remove the solution from the couch with an old towel you don't mind throwing away. Repeat soaking and removing the solution until the stain is completely gone.

Step 4

Wash out the mixing bowl and fill with warm water. Use a sponge to wash the area where you used the cleaning solution. Dry with a towel and repeat. Allow the spot to dry completely before sitting on it.
