How to Delete the Cache in Internet Explorer 8

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 browser stores visited website information by default. This cache of data helps speed up your browser when you repeatedly visit the same pages, allowing websites to load faster. However, you may run into problems if you fail to clear the cache periodically, such as a privacy violation due to the fact that Internet Explorer 8 stores all of your browsing data. Clear your cache using the browser's built-in tools.

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer 8, then press "Ctrl-Shift-Delete" to open the "Delete Browsing History" window.

2. Remove the check next to "Preserve Favorites Website Data."

3. Place a check next to "Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History."

4. Click the "Delete" button at the bottom of the dialog box. Internet Explorer 8 clears your cache.
